Young sends Trojans past Eagles; Swanson lifts Westfield/Brocton
ELLICOTTVILLE — Connor Young scored a hat trick to lift Southwestern past Ellicottville 4-2 in nonleague boys soccer action on Saturday.
Grey Kidder scored the first goal to help Southwestern (9-1-0) overcome a 2-0 deficit.
Owen Doherty scored two goals in the first ten minutes for Ellicottville (4-5-1), but the Eagles could not hold onto the lead.
NORTH COLLINS ROLLS PANTHERS
NORTH COLLINS — North Collins had seven different goalscorers as it defeated Gowanda/Pine Valley 7-0 in nonleague play.
Leon Lark scored and dealt two assists to lead the Eagles (4-3-0), Angelo Fera had a goal and an assist, Neven Sheehy, Zander Miller, Scott Armbruster, Zach Quiter and Abe Parnitzke scored once each, and both Maddox Miller and Cole Miller had an assist apiece.
Gowanda/Pine Valley stumbles to 0-7-0 overall with the loss.
SWANSON PACES WOLVERINES
WESTFIELD — Carson Swanson scored two goals and two assists to lead Westfield/Brocton over Silver Creek/Forestville 6-0 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division III.
Anthony Gatto also scored two goals for the Wolverines (7-1-2, 3-0-1), Zach Maguire scored the first goal, Ben Wolfe potted the last, and both Danny Bratton and Tahner Stow made an assist.
The Black Knights fall to 2-5-0 overall and 0-4-0 in league.
