CHEEKTOWAGA — The Maryvale boys soccer team scored a pair of goals in the span of four minutes and that was enough to sink Dunkirk in the Section VI Class A2 prequarterfinal playoff game on Wednesday 2-0.

Muhammed Tarar scored first from Abdul Rahman Muhujees in the 30th minute and then Cody Freyburger added an insurance goal in the 34th as the 8-seeded Mustangs got past No. 9 Dunkirk.

The Mustangs (9-8-0) will travel to No. 1 Lewiston-Porter (13-1-2) for a quarterfinal matchup on Friday.

Dunkirk finishes the season with a 4-12-1 record.
