Randolph tops Golden Cougars in overtime

FALCONER — Cody Slade scored from Cooper Freeman two minutes into overtime as Randolph remained unbeaten with a 1-0 shut out of Cassadaga Valley/Falconer in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division II boys soccer Monday.

Delsin Tallchief needed to make just one save to earn his sixth clean sheet of the season for the Cardinals (10-0-1, 6-0-0).

Nathan Bailey made nine saves for the Golden Cougars (3-7-1, 2-4-0).

VAUGHN POURS IN FIVE

WEST ELLICOTT — Seth Vaughn scored five goals and Connor Young had four assists as Southwestern took care of Dunkirk 5-1 in Division I play at Karl Hoeppner Field.

Vaughn scored four times in the first half with Young assisted on three of the goals and Nolan Lefler assisting on the other. Then, just 28 seconds after halftime, Vaughn scored his fifth of the game from Young for the Trojans (10-1-0, 6-0-0).

Danny Hoth scored from Lucas Felt for the Marauders (3-6-1, 1-5-0), who received eight saves in net from Greg Orcutt Jr.

HENRY NETS

HAT TRICK

MAYVILLE — Nate Henry scored Chautauqua Lake’s middle three goals in a 5-1 Division III win over North Collins.

Liam Swan opened the scoring from Kameron Press in the 12th minute and Henry added his first goal of the game from Press in the 31st minute. Henry then scored from Aden Gollhardt in the 36th minute. In the 54th minute, Henry completed his hat trick from Press and in the 78th minute, Michael Horvath scored from Brendan Klossner for Chautauqua Lake (5-5-0, 3-2-0).

North Collins fell to 4-4-0 overall, including 1-4-0 in the league.

KLEIN, JOHNSON POWER EAGLES

ELLICOTTVILLE — Tosh Klein and Maddox Johnson each scored twice as Ellicottville blanked Pine Valley/Gowanda 5-0 in Division II action.

Klein scored from Kyle Robinson in the ninth minute and Holden Basher in the 17th minute. Johnson scored from Robinson in the 18th minute and Rian Johnson in the 75th minute. Jaxson LaCroix’s goal from Ben Edwards gave the Eagles (5-5-1, 4-2-0) a 4-0 lead going into halftime.

The Panthers fell to 0-8-0 overall, including 0-6-0 in the league.

PORTVILLE COASTS

TO VICTORY

SALAMANCA — Nine different players scored goals as Portville coasted past Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley 10-1 in Division II play.

Gabe Evans scored twice, while Colin German, Braedon Carter, Garrett Reynolds, Patrick Perkins, Owen Faulkner, Carson Friends, Chase Armstrong and Trent Jadlowski each scored once for the Panthers (7-1-2, 5-1-0). Brady German had five assists, Braedon Carter had three and Jadlowski had one.

Kayden McCune scored the lone goal for the Warwolves (1-9-0, 1-5-0).
