Dunkirk bowling sweeps Silver Creek at Hanover Lanes

SILVER CREEK — The Dunkirk boys bowling team began the season with a sweep of Silver Creek in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 action at Hanover Lanes on Monday.

The Marauders outscored the Black Knights 642-734-593-1,969 to 577-557-480-1,614.

Zakary Clark paced Dunkirk (4-0, 4-0) with the team’s high series of 461 and high game of 188, while Michael Glowniak added a 406 series.

Silver Creek (0-8, 0-8) was led by Ethan Vecchio with the overall high series of 467 with a 181 game.

HORNETS SWEEP WESTFIELD

FREDONIA — Tucker Merritt and Emily Lillie rolled the high series for Forestville boys and girls as the Hornets swept Westfield in CCAA Division 2 play.

The Forestville boys rolled 777-819-659-2,255 to defeat Westfield’s 653-618-573-1,844.

Merrit rolled a 191 in the high series of 496 for Forestville (7-1, 7-1), while Tyler Waugh tossed 177-171-466 and Alexander Lucas posted a 463 series.

Westfield (0-4, 0-4) was led by Cole Tenamore with a 411 series, but Tahner Stow tossed the high games of 180-183.

Emily Lillie had the high series on the day at 550, rolling 164-193-193 to send Forestville past Westfield 547-630-643-1,820 to 486-418-320-1,224.

Alexandra Kerstetter added a 453 series and 167 game for the Hornets (8-0, 8-0), while Megan Gruber also shot a 167 game.

Westfield (0-4, 0-4) was led by Reece Schuster with a 172 game.

FREDONIA BOYS SWEEP JHS, GIRLS SPLIT

FREDONIA — Fredonia swept Jamestown Division 1 at Lucky Lanes.

The Hillbillies (7-1, 7-1) had a linescore of 793-831-745-2,369, while The Red & Green (4-4, 4-4) had a linescore of 479-623-566-1,668.

Daniel Cook had a 225-487 to lead Fredonia. Brady Helmer had a 200 while Bradley Berkshire had a 170. Luka Paoletta had a 170 while Kaden Paoletta had a 169.

Collin Jock had a 167 for Jamestown.

The Fredonia girls and Jamestown split after the Hillbillies posted a linescore of 547-578-597-1,716 to 577-557-582-1,716.

Londyn Wilmot paced the field as she rolled 192-208-567 for Fredonia (2.5-5.5, 2.5-5.5), Gracey Brundage tossed 150-131-409 and Emma DuBois added 134.

Addison Cappalino scored 179-167-505 for Jamestown (1.5-2.5, 1.5-2.5), while Jamie Beaver hit 171 and Macy Baily shot a 156.
