Coughlans, Lakeview Shock win CCHA Championships

The Chautauqua County Hockey Association recently crowned two new champions at Steele Hall Arena.

The A/B League Championship was decided in overtime with Alex Paluch netting the game-winning goal for Coughlans in a 6-5 win over Wicked Glen.

Mark Zaffalon led Coughlans with two goals and two assists, Carson Carey also scored twice, both Nick Walter and Dustin Malkowski had two assists, Eric Gunderson scored once and Paluch had two helpers on top of the game-winning tally. The winning goaltender was AJ Riforgiat.

Wicked Glen was led by Jayden Taylor with two goals, Stephen Boucher scored once with two assists, Nolan Mages and Kaine Hidy had a goal apiece and Kirk Mohawk had one assist. In net for Wicked Glen was Nate Williams.

C LEAGUE

Lakeview Shock was more dominant, capturing its championship with a 5-0 win over Heenans.

Matt Polvino netted a hat trick, Tony Privatera had two assists, Joe Harris scored and assisted a goal, Joe Geerkin scored once, while Keith Mages, Nick Galdemis and Lee Andolina each had an assist.

The winning goalie was Brian Lillie.
