Dobek to continue hockey career at Tufts University

A former Northern Chautauqua County Youth Hockey Association Steeler and Hill School alumnus has recently committed to play hockey this fall for Tufts University.

Colby Dobek has spent this past season playing in the NCDC for the Worcester Railers. His impact was felt immediately as he was named the New England Conference Player of the Week early in the season.

Dobek was the Railers’ leader in points until he was traded in mid-January to the Jersey Hitmen, who are currently in third place in the Atlantic Division and have clinched a playoff spot.

Jersey will look to utilize Dobek’s speed and skill as it begins a playoff push later this month.

Dobek has also been recognized by The Neutral Zone, receiving an A rating from the scouting department. He is currently ninth in goals and 18th in total points for rookies in the NCDC.

Tufts is a member of the NESCAC, a group of 11 small, highly selective liberal arts colleges in the northeastern United States. Recognized for challenging academics, supportive campus communities and robust athletic programs, these colleges offer a high-caliber education within a close-knit setting.

Starting at $3.50/week.
