LAKEWOOD — Four boys tennis doubles teams locked up their spots in today’s Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association semifinals after their performances Tuesday at the Lakewood YMCA.

Three of the squads — Alex Ash-West and Cavan Boutillette, Brady Riehle and Brayden Cook, and Brenden Bailey and Evan Snyder — are from Olean, while the fourth team, Chase Haaksma and Nolan Lefler, hail from Southwestern.

All four teams will move on to the Section VI Championships, which will be held May 27-28 at Orchard Park High School.

To secure their spot at sectionals, Ash-West and Boutillette lost just one game in their three victories; Riehle and Cook posted 8-1 and 9-7 wins before dispatching of Allegany-Limestone’s Griffin and Buffamante 7-6, 6-1 in the quarterfinal; Bailey and Snyder lost only three games in their three wins; and Haaksma and Lefler posted 8-2 and 8-4 wins before knocking off Josiah Todd and Levi Otero of Olean 6-4, 6-3 in the quarterfinals.

Ash-West and Boutillette will meet Riehle and Cook in one semifinal today, while Bailey and Snyder will take on Haaksma and Lefler in the other.

Starting at $3.50/week.
