Fredonia shuts out Southwestern 11-0

WEST ELLICOTT — Fredonia’s Danielle Palisin gave up just two hits and struck out six batters in a complete-game shutout against Southwestern 11-0 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 softball action on Friday.

Palisin helped her own cause, going 3 for 4 with a couple of runs, Anna Delcamp was 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs, Ava Muck (double) had two hits and Rihanna Benner was 2 for 3 with a double for Fredonia (10-3, 8-0).

Arianna Silakowski struck out eight batters in the circle for Southwestern (4-5, 4-4), while Lexie Beckerink and Siri DuBois hit singles.

NORTH COLLINS EDGES BULLDOGS

BROCTON — Isabelle Contro collected three singles and three RBIs to lead North Collins past Brocton in nonleague play.

Mckenna Ayers recorded four strikeouts in the circle for the win for North Collins. Both Eleanor Fricano and Karinna Kaufman had a single and an RBI for the Eagles (2-12, 0-7).

Brocton was led by Lauralie and Victoria Battaglia with two singles each, Zoe Spiller and Paige Miller each had an RBI double and Jolena Doner added two singles with an RBI. In the circle, Madison Sears recorded 11 strikeouts for Brocton (0-10, 0-7).

HUSKIES BLANK RED & GREEN

JAMESTOWN — Emma Edwards struck out five batters and gave up just two hits as Olean shut out Jamestown 6-0 in Division 1.

Riley Sudbrook had three singles and three runs for the Huskies, while Allison Anastasia doubled.

Raegan Powers had a pair of singles for Jamestown, while Kaylee Keppel was the losing pitcher.
