FREDONIA — The heat was not enough to deter a competitive night of golf as the Friday Night Couples League at Vineyards Golf Course resumed play after a two-week hiatus on July 11.

The foursome of Steve & Dee Lundin and Bill Malinowski & Kristina Smith tied for first place honors with George & Pam Allessi and their partners, Al & Patty Muck. Both teams shot a low score of 31.

Three teams consisting of Joe & Antonett Charletta and Rich & Sarah Kirchenwitz; Peter & Amanda Krakowiak with Chris and Priscilla Penfold; and Rich & Pam Hofer along with Jim Waite & Donna Merritt all carded 32s for second place.

Alone in third place with a 34 was the foursome of Dan & Sue Johnson and Barry & Cathe Kilpatrick.

Jim Waite won closest to the pin on the second shot on No. 3.

The evening included dinner served by the Vineyards and a special guest appearance by Ben Ackley, grandson of the Allessis.

The next outing this Friday.
