The 50th annual First Ward Falcon Club fast-pitch tournament lived up to expectations, with stellar pitching and hitting performances from nine teams.
The championship game featured the Oshweken Redmen and the Wyevale Tribe, with the Redmen coming out on top 9-2.
The Redmen had a perfect weekend going 6-0, led by strong pitching performances.
On Friday night, the six-inning run-rule victory over the Wyevale Tribe was thanks largely in part to Steve Normand, who threw a perfect game and struck out all 18 batters he faced. In their final game, Adam Buchner got the win to take the title home.
Tournament organizer Tim Wdowiasz thanked all of the fans who attended, the City of Dunkirk Youth and Recreation Department, City of Dunkirk Parks Department, Dunkirk Little League, and all volunteers who made this year one of the best yet.
