Frewsburg/Southwestern hands Dunkirk 5-0 tennis defeat

WEST ELLICOTT — Grace Kutschke and Danielle Mincarelli both won their singles matches 6-0, 6-0 as Frewsburg/Southwestern cruised to a 5-0 sweep of Dunkirk in nonleague girls tennis Monday afternoon.

Lily Harvey and Mackenzie Lobb won 6-3, 6-3 at first doubles, Olivia Grey and Bailey Bishop won 6-2, 6-3 at second doubles, and Marleigh Stappenbeck and Claire Spielman won 6-0, 6-3 at third doubles for the hosts.

FREDONIA IMPROVES TO 9-0

SALAMANCA — Fredonia won a pair of Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division I matches from Salamanca, 5-0 and 4-1, to improve to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in the league.

Nella Darrell-Sterbak and Charis LaBarr won singles matches in the 5-0 win while Rosie Manzella and Elizabeth Joy added a doubles victory.

In the Hillbillies’ 4-1 win, Joy won at second singles while Olivia Balch and Michaela Mead won at first doubles.

The Warriors lone win for the Warriors (0-6-1, 0-4-1) came from Emilia Prey at first singles in the second match.

Salamanca forfeited second and third doubles.

BEMUS POINT — Three singles victories allowed Maple Grove to hold on for a 3-2 nonleague win over Jamestown.

Meghan Lockwood, Megan McGee and Kate Verdonik were the singles winners for the Red Dragons.

Aleah Loveless and Gabrielle Seekins won at first doubles while Cory Blanchard and Amaya Thompson won a marathon second-doubles match for the Red & Green.
