Dunkirk boys, girls soccer teams post big wins

DUNKIRK — The Dunkirk boys soccer team got back in the win column on Tuesday with a huge 9-2 nonleague victory over Silver Creek/Forestville at Karl Hoeppner Field.

Lucas Felt provided a pair of first half goals to get the Marauders (2-1) started, while Anthony Bautista added a second-half hat trick and both Victor Millan and Naisaih Rodriguez scored twice. Isaiah Durling picked up two assists, Millan had a helper along with his goals and each Brady Dobek, Josh Lemanski and Ismael Santiago picked up an assist.

Silver Creek/Forestville (1-1) was paced again by Nate Mays with both goals and Ryan Cook had both assists.

EAGLES EDGE TROJANS

WEST ELLICOTT — Ellicottville/Franklinville picked up its first win of the year, edging out Southwestern in nonleague action 3-2 at Charles A. Lawson Field.

Tosh Klein paced the Eagles (1-1-1) with two goals and Rian Johnson scored between the tallies. The assists were provided by Jacob Henning, Teddy Edwards and Jaxson LaCroix.

Southwestern (0-1-0) is back in action on Friday night at Maple Grove.

MARAUDERS ROLL PANTHERS

SOUTH DAYTON — Chianti Lopez scored a goal and set up two more as Dunkirk rolled Pine Valley/Gowanda 6-0 in nonleague girls soccer action on Tuesday.

Kamdyn Earring scored the first two goals for the Marauders (1-0), while Danielle Felt and Natalie Watts both had a goal and an assist and Selena Johnson scored once. Celeste Bautista and Earring split time in net and both made a save to preserve the clean sheet.

FRIDAY

FREDONIA DROPS OPENER

PORTVILLE — Kiyah Mohr’s tally in the first half was enough for Portville to edge Fredonia 1-0 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 action on Friday.

Grace Gariepy set up the lone goal for Portville (1-0), while Bella Morales made four saves for the clean sheet.

Naomi Muck made nine saves for Fredonia (0-1) in net, while the team had five great chances in the second half with Nora Polhamus leading the attack with three shots on goal.
