Westfield/Brocton takes home Dunkirk Championship Cup

DUNKIRK — Braylon Swanson provided two goals in the first half and Westfield/Brocton kept Dunkirk off the scoreboard for a 3-0 victory to claim the Dunkirk Championship Cup on Saturday at Karl Hoeppner Field.
Parker Gambino got things started for the Wolverines in the 14th minute on an assist from Logan Baum, then Michael Cettell and Tahner Stow set up Swanson’s tallies to secure the victory.
Westfield/Brocton’s Anthony Gatto was named Tournament MVP, while Swanson was the Player of the Game in the championship.
Dunkirk selected Josh Lemanski and Victor Millan as its Team MVPs.
3RD PLACE
DUNKIRK — After suffering an opening loss to Dunkirk, Cassadaga Valley/Falconer rebounded in the third place game of the Dunkirk Championship Cup with a massive 14-0 victory over Cattaraugus-Little Valley at Karl Hoeppner Field.
The Golden Cougars had nearly every player involved in the result with Clayton Evans netting two goals and two assists, Jakob Huling added a goal with three assists, Hunter Hattaway scored a hat trick, Nathan Cieplinski scored a goal and had two assists, Gavin Penhollow, Dominic DeAngelo and Nathyn Gilbert each scored a goal and an assist, Ben Petry, Donovan Delaney, Matthew Farmer and Jackson Marsh all scored one goal and Kale Livengood had one assist.
The Tournament MVPs for Cassadaga Valley/Falconer were both Huling and Noah Booth.
GATOR CUP
ALLEGANY-LIMESTONE RALLIES PAST RANDOLPH
ALLEGANY — Allegany-Limestone overcame a two-goal deficit against Randolph to win the large-school championship at the Gator Cup 3-2 on Saturday
Cooper Freeman scored 11 seconds into the game with an assist from Cody Slade, then the duo connected again in the 10th minute to take a 2-0 lead.
However, that would not last as Noah Hatch and Cooper Wilczewski brought the score level in the 24th minute. Instead of settling for overtime, Allegany-Limestone sealed the deal in the 75th minute when Kaleb Reed scored from Mat Burnett.
EAGLES TIE PORTVILLE
ALLEGANY — Tosh Klein scored twice and Rian Johnson assisted both times as Ellicottville/Franklinville battled Portville to a 2-2 tie in the small-school consolation game of the Gator Cup.
Ellicottville/Franklinville is still in search of its first victory after suffering a 1-0 loss to Avoca/Prattsburg on Friday.
