Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove girls are 3-seed

Frewsburg and Southwestern will have the highest seeds locally when the Section VI girls soccer playoffs get underway this week.

The Bears and Trojans are both No. 2 seeds in their respective brackets.

In Class B, Southwestern is the No. 2 seed and will host No. 15 JFK in a prequarterfinal Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove is the No. 3 seed and will host No. 14 Medina that same evening at 6 p.m.

Four local Class B teams will go on the road for prequarterfinals that day. No. 9 Fredonia will travel to No. 8 Springville at 3:30 p.m., No. 10 Salamanca will visit No. 7 Eden at 6 p.m., No. 11 Silver Creek/Forestville will travel to No. 6 Akron at 3:30 p.m. and No. 16 Pine Valley/Gowanda will travel to top-seeded Alden at 6 p.m.

Class B quarterfinals will take place Saturday, Oct. 25 at the higher-seeded teams as will the semifinals on Tuesday, Oct. 28. The Class B championship game will take place at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 at Williamsville North High School.

In Class C, No. 2 Frewsburg has a bye into the quarterfinals.

In Wednesday prequarterfinals, No. 9 Chautauqua Lake will visit No. 8 Barker/Lyndonville at 6 p.m. and No. 10 North Collins will travel to Westfield to take on No. 7 Westfield/Brocton at 3:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Oct. 25, in noon quarterfinals, the Chautauqua Lake-Barker/Lyndonville winner will travel to No. 1 Wilson, No. 5 Ellicottville will visit No. 4 Portville, No. 3 Randolph will host No. 6 Holland and Frewsburg will host the winner of North Collins and Westfield/Brocton.

The Class C semifinals will take place at higher seeds on Wednesday, Oct. 29 with the championship game set for 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 at Allegany-Limestone.

In Class AAA, Jamestown is the No. 4 seed in a five-team bracket and will host No. 5 West Seneca in a quarterfinal Friday, Oct. 24 at Strider Field. The winner of that game will travel to No. 1 Lancaster for a 6 p.m. semifinal Tuesday, Oct. 28.

The Class AAA final is set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 at Williamsville North High School.

In Class A, No. 16 Dunkirk will travel to No. 1 Starpoint for a 6 p.m. prequarterfinal Tuesday, Oct. 21. Quarterfinals are set for Friday, Oct. 24 at higher seeds as are semifinals Monday, Oct. 27. The Class A final is slated for 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 at Williamsville North High School.

Clarence is the No. 1 seed in Class AA. Its championship game is set for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 at Williamsville North High School.

Franklinville is the lone Class D team in Section VI and will wait for a Far West Regional matchup against the Section V champion Friday, Nov. 7 or Saturday, Nov. 8.
