Fredonia volleyball sweeps Dunkirk

DUNKIRK — Londyn Wilmot scored 17 kills as Fredonia swept Dunkirk 25-16, 25-10, 25-19 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 volleyball action on Monday.

Elly Saunders had three aces and eight kills for the Hillbillies (6-9, 5-6) and Alysse Bugaj made 23 assists.

Dunkirk (1-15, 0-12) was led by Aidri Vega with six kills and Kelsey Lancaster made nine assists.

CARDINALS KNOCK OFF T’WOLVES

RANDOLPH — Addyson Shawley scored 26 kills, two aces, three blocks and eight digs as Randolph knocked off Cattaraugus-Little Valley in five sets of Division 2 action 24-26, 26-24, 25-23, 19-25, 15-6.

Piper Chase provided 26 assists, four kills, six digs, four aces and a block for Randolph (5-11, 4-7), Ryanne Bushey made eight kills, two assists, seven digs and an ace and Maybelle Kovel had six digs and three aces.

Cattaraugus-Little Valley drops to 13-3 overall and 8-3 in league.

EAGLES SWEEP

WEST VALLEY — Riley Whitmer had seven kills and seven digs while Ellicottville swept West Valley/Franklinville 25-14, 25-14, 25-13 in Division 2.

Ande Northrup made 16 assists, three digs and two aces for Ellicottville (13-6, 5-6), Izzy Coburn made five kills, six digs and four aces and Katie Lafferty had three kills and three aces.

West Valley/Franklinville falls to 0-11 overall and 0-10 in league.

PANTHERS ROLL PAST FALCONER

PORTVILLE — Ali Haynes provided 20 kills, two aces, five digs and five blocks as Portville swept Falconer 25-14, 25-13, 25-18 in Division 1.

Addie Walker made 27 assists, five aces, two digs and a kill for Portville (14-0, 11-0), Leigha Stives had two kills, a block and an ace, Marissa Carls scored eight kills, one ace and three digs and Mia Rhinehart had three assists and 17 digs.

Falconer (14-3, 9-2) was led by Emily Zaranek with six kills, seven digs and two aces, Reagan Trask had 11 assists, two aces, four digs and two blocks and Hannah Melquist provided six kills, four digs and two blocks.

HUSKIES DOWN TROJANS

OLEAN — Olean swept Southwestern 25-11, 25-22, 25-9 in Division 1.

The Huskies improved to 11-4 overall and 8-3 in league with the victory.

The Southwestern (6-10, 4-7) effort was led by Gianna Sirianni with three kills, Claire Kautzman had 10 digs and Lilyauna Hutzler made three aces.
