Koopman scores twice as ‘Billies edge Trojans in boys soccer

FREDONIA — Ryan Koopman scored twice and the Fredonia boys soccer team was able to limit Southwestern for a 3-1 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division I victory on Tuesday.

Koopman first scored in the 10th minute and the ‘Billies found another from Kyle Holland assisted by Sam Pietro in the 25th. Koopman’s final goal came in the 71st minute as Neshwan Arif set him up and Fredonia (8-1-2, secured a crucial league win.

Oliver Stump scored the lone goal for Southwestern (2-7-1, 1-3-1).

PANTHERS BLANK EAGLES

PORTVILLE — After a scoreless first half, Portville scored three goals in five minutes to get past Ellicottville/Franklinville 3-0 in Division II action.

Vic Vena got things started for Portville (8-0-3, 4-0-1) in the 51st minute from Parker Keim, Colin German scored unassisted a minute later, then Garrett Reynolds scored from John Neeson in the 56th.

Ellicottville/Franklinville falls to 4-4-1 overall and 2-2-1 in league.

GATORS ROLL RED & GREEN

ALLEGANY — Cooper Wilczewski scored and made an assist as Allegany-Limestone shut out Jamestown 3-0 in Division I.

Wilczewski set up Owen Buzzard in the 47th minute for the Gators’ second goal, then Allegany-Limestone (8-1-0, 5-0-0) added a final tally in the 70th when Noah Hatch set up Isaac Brauer.

Jamestown falls to 3-5-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the league.

GOLDEN COUGARS DOMINATE

FALCONER — Nathan Cieplinski and Cam Katilus both scored hat tricks as Cassadaga Valley/Falconer defeated Salamanca 8-1 in Division II.

Nathyn Gilbert made three assists for the Golden Cougars (3-7-1, 2-2-1), while Mason Debo had two assists, Jakob Huling scored and set up a goal and Kale Livengood scored once.

Salamanca is now 1-5-0 in league and 1-9-0 overall.

FREEMAN POWERS RANDOLPH TO WIN

RANDOLPH — Cooper Freeman scored five goals and made an assist to lead Randolph past Pine Valley/Gowanda 10-0 in Division II.

Gavin Senn and Dallas Finch both scored a goal and an assist for the Cardinals (9-1-1, 4-0-1), Isaac Pihlblad made two assists, Ayden Shields and Gunnar Rosing scored once each and both Preston Eccles and Camden Peters had an assist.

Pine Valley/Gowanda is now 0-10-0 overall and 0-5-0 in the division.

WOLVERINES HOLD ON

MAYVILLE — Tahner Stow scored from Parker Gambino in the first minute and it was all the Wolverines needed as they held off Chautauqua Lake 2-0 in Division III.

Westfield/Brocton (9-2-0, 5-0-0) added insurance in the 21st minute when Caleb Stoughton scored from Ayden Reese and the Wolverines relied on seven saves for the clean sheet.

Chautauqua Lake falls to 5-4-0 overall and 1-3-0 in league.

EAGLES EDGE RED DRAGONS

BEMUS POINT — Lucio Zagari scored the lone goal in the 65th minute as North Collins got past Maple Grove 1-0 in Division III.

Karter Bartholomew set up the North Collins (6-4-0, 3-1-0) goal.

Maple Grove drops to 5-4-0 overall and 1-3-0 in the division.

RODRIGUEZ SCORES HAT TRICK

OLEAN — Naisaih Rodriguez scored a first-half hat trick for the Marauders as they went on to defeat Olean 4-1 in Division I.

Victor Millan added another goal in the 77th minute from Josh Lemanski, while Evan Dolce made three saves in net for Dunkirk (7-3-1, 3-1-1).

Olean is now 1-8-0 overall and 0-4-0 in the division.
