Panthers sweep Cards in D2

RANDOLPH — Corrina John had 11 kills, four blocks, three aces and two digs as Gowanda beat Randolph 25-17, 25-21, 26-24 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 volleyball Wednesday.

Bella Maines had 25 assists, eight digs and an ace; Addison Kota had seven kills, six digs and a block; and Maleina Moses had five kills and 14 digs for the Panthers (12-2, 10-0)

Addyson Shawley had 14 kills, eight digs, three aces and two blocks; Piper Chase had 15 assists, eight digs, a kill and a block; and Ryanne Bushey had six kills, seven digs and an ace for the Cardinals (2-11, 2-7).

EAGLES SWEEP PANAMA

MAYVILLE — Brina Jacobson and Kinslee Motter had nine kills apiece as Chautauqua Lake swept nonleague Panama 25-9, 25-11, 25-12.

Jacobson added eight digs; Motter had three aces, eight digs and a block; Jeanine Group had four kills and a block; Gracie Gerring had three kills, three digs and a block; Makenna Smith had six aces and seven digs; Karagan Fairbank had 29 assists, two aces and a block; and Noli Paddock had four blocks and four kills for the Eagles (12-1).

Mckenna Kolstee had three kills and two blocks while Alexis Becker had seven digs for the Panthers (8-8).

Chautauqua Lake won the jayvee match.

PANTHERS RALLY PAST HORNETS

SOUTH DAYTON — Ava West had 10 kills, 13 digs, four aces and two assists as Pine Valley beat Forestville 17-25, 21-25, 25-20, 25-16, 15-13 in Division 4 action.

Cameron Rhinehart had 12 digs, eight kills and two aces; Madi Robertson had 26 assists, three digs and two aces; and Breanna Snyder had 20 digs for the Panthers (2-13, 2-7).

Elizabeth Case had five assists, two kills and two blocks; Iris Muck had 13 kills, an ace and four blocks; and Ava Gruber had eight kills and four aces for the Hornets (2-12, 2-7).

Forestville won the jayvee matchup.

FOSTER SERVES WARRIORS TO WIN

SALAMANCA — Maliah Foster had seven aces as Salamanca swept West Valley/Franklinville 25-19, 25-17, 25-12 in Division 2 action.

MaKenzie Crouse and Ayla Newark had six kills apiece while Liana Jimerson had 10 assists for the Warriors (5-11, 4-10).

The Wildcats fell to 0-10 overall and in the league.

PANTHERS SWEEP RED & GREEN

JAMESTOWN — Portville swept Jamestown 25-12, 25-23, 25-9 in Division 1 play at McElrath Gymnasium.

The Panthers improved to 13-0 overall and 10-0 in the division.

Maylin Cuifolo had 12 assists and 16 digs; Remy Anderson had four kills, two digs, two blocks and three aces; Aiyanna Stam had four kills and three blocks; and Reagan Volpe had three kills and a dig for the Red & Green (2-12, 2-8).

Jamestown won the jayvee matchup 2-1.

SOUTHWESTERN EDGES MARAUDERS

WEST ELLICOTT — Elise Kartesz dealt 15 assists and made seven digs as Southwestern defeated Dunkirk 25-8, 25-15, 23-25, 25-20 in Division 1.

Lilyauna Hutzler made five aces for the Trojans, while both Madi Burnett and Gianna Sirianni had seven kills.

Dunkirk falls to 1-14 overall and 0-11 in league.
