Golden Cougars edge ‘Billies; Bears dominate Eagles

FALCONER — Julianna Roth scored twice and delivered an assist as Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove defeated Fredonia 3-1 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 action at Bill Race Field on Monday.
Roth scored in the 36th minute after an incredible display of dribbling before ripping home the opening goal for the Golden Cougars. Then Roth scored again just seven minutes into the second half from Bailey Olson and Sydney Snow added an insurance goal from Roth in the 79th minute.
Fredonia put the pressure on in the final 15 minutes when Cece Tonelli found the back of the net from Madelyn Polhamus in the 67th minute, but that is all the Hillbillies could muster.
Naomi Muck kept Fredonia (8-4-1, 5-4-1) in the game making 14 saves, while Ellyson Baglia made a crucial six saves for Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove.
With the victory, the Golden Cougars (8-4-0, 8-2-0) control their own destiny for a league championship as they host Southwestern (8-5-1, 7-3-0) on Wednesday night.

FREWSBURG CLINCHES LEAGUE OUTRIGHT
MAYVILLE — Audrey Eckwahl scored five goals and Frewsburg defeated Chautauqua Lake 9-0 to solely clinch the Division 3 title.
Jaden Jimerson added two goals and three assists for Frewsburg, Charlie Lombardo scored twice, while Gabriella Dumaine, Ellie Cappa, Lyla Salvaggio and Presleigh Stelmack each had an assist.
Elysse Gruber recorded six saves for the Frewsburg clean sheet.
Chautauqua Lake falls to 4-7-0 overall and 4-4-0 in league.

TROJANS ROLL OLEAN
WEST ELLICOTT — Lucy Brown and Avery Johnson both scored a goal and an assist in Southwestern’s 6-0 Division 1 win over Olean.
Kait Rogers, Kenzie Rogers, Ellie Giltinan and M’Kenzie Zavala each had an unassisted tally and Braya Beaver made two saves for the Southwestern clean sheet.
Audrey Hoffman made 19 saves for Olean (1-11-1, 0-9-1).
CARDINALS SECURE DIVISION 2 TITLE

SALAMANCA — Gianna Bowles scored a hat trick and set up another goal that lifted Randolph past Salamanca 6-1 and delivered the Cardinals the Division 2 title.
Serena Smith scored twice and added an assist for Randolph (11-1-0, 8-0-0), Ella Monroe had a goal and an assist and Ava Sears provided an assist. Harper Russell made six saves for the victory.
Ireland Fidurko scored the lone Salamanca (5-7-0, 5-3-0) goal on a direct kick, while Kendra Bova Redeye made six saves in net.
EAGLES EDGE BLACK KNIGHTS
NORTH COLLINS — James Pisa scored two goals in the second half to lift North Collins past Silver Creek/Forestville 2-1 in Division 3.
Isabella Contro set up the first North Collins (5-5-3, 2-4-2) goal, while Mya Tanis made nine saves in net.
Silver Creek/Forestville (6-6-1, 3-4-1) opened the scoring with an Abby Cook goal from Meadow Azzarella and Eliza Mahaney had six saves in goal.
WOLVERINES EDGE MARAUDERS
WESTFIELD — Avery Swank scored the lone goal to lift Westfield/Brocton past Dunkirk 1-0 in Division 3.
Olivia Wolfe set up the Swank goal, while Colie Bundy made three saves for Westfield/Brocton (7-3-2, 4-2-2).
Dunkirk falls to 2-9-1 overall and 0-7-1 in league.
EAGLES GET PAST FRANKLINVILLE
ELLICOTTVILLE — Eliza Murray scored twice and Ellicottville beat Franklinville 2-1 in Division 2.
Camerie Riley assisted the first Murray goal, while Ady Andrews provided five saves for Ellicottville (7-5-0, 5-3-0).
Mya Sullivan scored the lone Franklinville goal and was assisted by Selena Hernandez. Kierra Knobloch made 10 saves for the Panthers (2-10-0, 1-7-0).
TIMBERWOLVES DOWN PANTHERS
CATTARAUGUS — Talon Bramer scored a hat trick as Cattaraugus-Little Valley defeated Pine Valley/Gowanda 4-1 in Division 2.
Rebekah Butcher scored the other goal for the Timberwolves (7-6-0, 5-3-0), while Candice Brown and Emily Schmidt each provided an assist.
Emma West made three saves in the win.
Pine Valley/Gowanda is now 0-12-0 overall and 0-7-0 in league.
PORTVILLE EDGED RED & GREEN
JAMESTOWN — Allie Bray scored from Alexis Linn and Portville kept Jamestown off the board in a 2-0 Division 1 victory.
Kiyah Mohr added an insurance goal for Portville (8-2-1, 6-2-1) and Bella Morales made six saves for the clean sheet.
JaLeiya Glover provided eight saves for Jamestown (1-12-1, 1-9-1).
