Portville clinches CCAA Division 1 girls soccer title

PORTVILLE — Allie Bray scored Grace Gariepy in the second half and it held up as the winner as Portville clinched the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 girls soccer title with a 1-0 shutout of Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove on Wednesday evening.

Bella Morales made five saves for the Panthers (12-2-1, 9-2-1).

Ellyson Baglia made six saves for the Golden Cougars (10-5-1, 8-3-1).

SLIWA NETS WINNER

DUNKIRK — Carilene Sliwa scored from Abby Cook in the 13th minute as Silver Creek/Forestville beat Dunkirk 1-0 in Division 3 play at Karl Hoeppner Field.

Sliwa and Eliza Mahaney each made a save for the Black Knights (8-6-1, 5-4-1).

Celeste Bautista made 22 saves for the Marauders (4-11-1, 0-9-1).

TROJANS BLANK FREDONIA

WEST ELLICOTT — Southwestern scored a goal in each half in a 2-0 Division shutout of Fredonia at the Fran Sirianni Athletic Complex.

Lucy Brown scored from Marlana Cresanti in the 22nd minute and Cresanti scored from Kait Rogers in the 30th minute for the Trojans (9-5-2, 8-3-1).

Braya Beaver made three saves in the clean sheet.

Naomi Muck made 16 saves for the Hillbillies (10-5-1, 6-5-1).

EAGLES PULL AWAY LATE

CATTARAUGUS — A pair of second-half goals sent Ellicottville to a 2-0 win over Cattaraugus-Little Valley in Division 2.

Juleana Lyon scored from Eliza Murray in the 63rd minute and Murray followed with a goal from Harper Klein in the 72nd minute for the Eagles (10-5-0, 7-3-0).

Cayda Kruszynski made two saves in net for Ellicottville.

Emma West made 15 saves and Jaelyn Snyder made five for the Timberwolves (7-8-0, 5-5-0).

WOLFE HAS BIG DAY

BROCTON — Olivia Wolfe had two goals and an assist to lead Westfield/Brocton past Chautauqua Lake 3-0 in Division 3.

Wolfe scored from Avery Swank in the fifth minute as the Wolverines (8-5-2, 5-3-2) led 1-0 at halftime.

After the break, Wolfe scored from Swank in the 71st minute and Swank scored from Wolfe in the 74th minute.

Colie Bundy made 13 saves in the clean sheet.

The Eagles fell to 4-10-0 overall and 4-6-0 in the league.

BEARS FINISH 10-0 LEAGUE SEASON

NORTH COLLINS — Five different goal scorers led Frewsburg to a 5-1 Division 3 defeat of North Collins as the Bears completed a perfect league season.

Audrey Eckwahl, Brook Lee, Elli Seiberg and Presleigh Stelmack scored in the first half as the Bears (13-2-1, 10-0-0) took a 4-0 lead. Ellie Cappa scored in the final 40 minutes. Eckwahl, Jaden Jimerson, Charlie Lombardo and Leah Powell each had an assist for the winners.

Elysse Gruber made one save in the clean sheet.

The Eagles fell to 7-6-3 overall and 3-5-2 in the league.

BROWN SCORES LONE GOAL

SALAMANCA — Ellouise Brown scored in the 24th minute as Salamanca beat Franklinville 1-0 in Division 2.

Kendra Bova Redeye made one save for the Warriors (6-8-0, 6-4-0).

The Panthers fell to 3-13-0 overall and 2-8-0 in the league.
