Clymer and Westfield will be the highest-seeded teams locally when the Section VI girls volleyball playoffs get underway next week.

The Pirates earned the No. 1 seed while the Wolverines earned the No. 2 seed in Class D and will have byes into the quarterfinals.

Prequarterfinal action gets underway Tuesday in Class D with No. 9 North Collins traveling to No. 8 Brocton, No. 4 Maple Grove hosting No. 13 West Valley/Franklinville, No. 5 Cassadaga Valley hosting No. 12 Holland, No. 7 Sherman hosting No. 10 Forestville and No. 6 Ellicottville hosting No. 11 Pine Valley. All of those matches will start at 6 p.m.

In addition to No. 1 Clymer and No. 2 Westfield, No. 3 Panama has a bye into Thursday’s quarterfinals. Class D semifinals will take place Monday, Nov. 3 at higher seeds while the final will take place Thursday, Nov. 6 at Southwestern, following the Class C final.

In Class C, Falconer is the highest-seeded team locally. The third-seeded Golden Falcons will host No. 14 Tapestry in a prequarterfinal Tuesday. Other Class C prequarterfinals that day include: No. 4 Chautauqua Lake hosting No. 13 Randolph, No. 10 Cattaraugus-Little Valley traveling to No. 7 Allegany-Limestone and No. 6 Gowanda hosting No. 11 Cleveland Hill. All of those matches are set for 6 p.m.

No. 1 Portville and No. 2 Eden will await Class C prequarterfinal winners in Thursday’s quarterfinals. Semifinals are set for Monday, Nov. 3 at higher seeds with the final on Thursday, Nov. 6 at Southwestern at 5:30 p.m.

In Class B1, No. 4 Fredonia will host No. 5 Tonawanda in a Thursday, Oct. 30 quarterfinal at 6 p.m. The semifinals are set for Monday, Nov. 3 at higher seeds with the final to be held Wednesday, Nov. 5 at Cheektowaga at 7:30 p.m. The Class B1 No. 1 seed is Depew.

In Class B2, No. 8 Salamanca will host a Tuesday prequarterfinal against No. 9 Medina. On Thursday, Oct. 30, No. 6 Southwestern will travel to No. 3 Royalton-Hartland. Class B2 semifinals are scheduled for Monday, Nov. 3 with the final to be held Wednesday, Nov. 5 at Cheektowaga at 5:30 p.m. The Class B2 No. 1 seed is Olmsted.

In Class A2, No. 8 Dunkirk will host a prequarterfinal Tuesday, Oct. 28 against No. 9 CSAT. The winner of that matchup will travel to No. 1 Pioneer for a Thursday, Oct. 30 quarterfinal. Class A2 semifinals are Monday, Nov. 3 at higher seeds with the final set for Wednesday, Nov. 5 at Clarence at 5:30 p.m.

In Class AAA, No. 4 Jamestown will visit No. 1 Lancaster for a Monday, Nov. 3 semifinal. That same day, No. 3 Lockport will travel to No. 2 Niagara Falls. The winners will meet in the sectional final Saturday, Nov. 8 at Cheektowaga at noon.

The No. 1 seed in Class AA is Orchard Park and in Class A1 it is Hamburg.
