CCAA volleyball leagues announce all-star selections

The Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association volleyball leagues recently announced their league all-stars through all four divisions. Each league also announced its top player with Portville senior Ali Haynes MVP in Division 1, Allegany-Limestone senior Serena Frederick in Division 2, Brocton senior Evie Morrison in Division 3 and Cassadaga Valley sophomore Alexis Pattyson in Division 4.
DIVISION 1
Haynes and the rest of Portville dominated Division 1, going undefeated before embarking on another playoff run that culminated with another state title. Earning First-Team selections for the Panthers were Adelyn Walker, Mia Rhinehart and Gaitley Maiolo, along with Haynes.
Then Portville added Leigha Stives to the Second Team, while Marissa Carls was an honorable mention.
Falconer added to the First Team senior outside hitter Hannah Melquist with 103 kills, 126 digs, 99 assists and 47 aces and senior outside hitter Emily Zaranek with 99 kills, 81 digs and 21 aces.

The Golden Falcons were represented on the Second Team by seniors Mylie Zaranek and Nylah Sharpe, while Reagan Trask and Kaylee Green were honorable mentions.
Junior middle blocker Londyn Wilmot earned a First-Team spot for Fredonia after recording 117 kills, 13 assists, 57 digs, 25 aces and 23 blocks.
The Hillbillies added to the Second Team sophomores Alyse Bugaj and Madelyn Krakowiak and junior Elizabeth Saunders. Their honorable mentions were Sidalee Lewis and Jordan Morris.
Southwestern junior middle blocker Madelyn Burnett was named to the First Team after 118 kills, 31 aces and 19 blocks. The Trojans added to the Second Team junior Elise Kartesz and honorable mention Gianna Sirianni.
Olean rounded out the First Team with seniors Ava Moses, Viktoriia Lozynska and Kaylin Kratts. The Huskies had a Second-Team selection in Haylie Bednarski and a trio of honorable mentions Ariana Finch, Elizabeth Bailey and Alyxandra Henzel.

Jamestown earned a Second-Team selection with junior Remy Anderson, while Dunkirk rounded things out with senior Ryleigh Donato. Aidri Vega of Dunkirk was an honorable mention.
The Team Sportsmanship Award was given to the Marauders, while individuals included Olean’s Lozynska, Falconer’s Melquist, Fredonia’s Saunders, Dunkirk’s Donato, Southwestern’s Ella Oldham and Jamestown’s Veronica Short.
DIVISION 2
Allegany-Limestone claimed the league title behind the MVP Frederick who scored 333 kills, 150 digs and 25 aces for the Gators. She was joined on the First Team by senior setter Julia DeRose who made 538 assists, 91 digs and 37 aces. The Gators added seniors Makenzie Goldsmith and Mia McCarthy to the Second Team.
Gowanda landed a pair of First-Team selections with senior outside hitter Corrina John, who scored 231 kills, 39 digs, 40 aces and 81 blocks, and sophomore setter Bella Maines, who made 531 assists, 117 digs and 25 aces.

The Panthers were represented on the Second Team by senior Addison Kota and junior Maleina Moses.
Cattaraugus-Little Valley junior outside hitters Carly and Riley Preston earned First-Team selections, while junior Maddie Shattuck was named to the Second Team.
Randolph was represented on the First Team by junior outside hitter Addyson Shawley, who scored 208 kills, 124 digs, 37 aces and 30 blocks, and senior outside hitter Ryanne Bushey, who added another 118 kills, 150 digs and 43 aces.
The Cardinals added senior Piper Chase-Hale to the Second Team and was selected for the Team Sportsmanship award.
Ellicottville rounded out the First Team with senior setter Ande Northrup who made 437 assists, 166 digs, 44 aces and 90 kills and junior outside hitter Riley Whitmer who provided 261 kills, 199 digs and 30 aces. Senior Izzy Coburn represented the Eagles on the Second Team.

Rounding out the Second Team were Salamanca seniors McKenzie Crouse and Liana Jimerson and West Valley/Franklinville seniors Mackenzie Chase and Abria Benjamin.
DIVISION 3
Westfield claimed the division title and three First-Team selections with senior setter Maddie Burgess, junior outside hitters Nahlia Douglas and Avery Smith.
Burgess dealt 368 assists, 40 digs and 26 aces; Douglas scored 126 kills, 70 digs and 41 aces; and Smith made 157 kills, 52 digs and 30 aces. The Wolverines were represented on the Second Team by sophomore Molly Burgess, while Mackenzie Schumaker and Arielle Corbett earned honorable mentions.
Brocton also had three First-Team picks headlined by senior MVP outside hitter Evie Morrison, who scored 220 kills, 75 assists, 148 digs and 56 aces; senior outside hitter Zoe Spiller provided 230 kills, 48 assists, 106 digs and 55 aces; and senior defensive specialist Grace Lundin who made 227 digs and 46 aces.
The Bulldogs also had an honorable mention with Aryana Nickerson.
Panama rounded out the First Team with senior setter Kiera Loberg, who made 346 assists, 65 digs, 28 aces and 87 kills; and sophomore libero Alexis Becker who made 215 digs and 16 aces. The Panthers added freshman McKenna Kolstee to the Second Team.
Maple Grove had Second-Team selections with junior Zoe Foley, seniors Bryanna Cornell and Mady Hagland, while honorable mentions were Bailey Godfrey and Rylee King.
Silver Creek rounded out the Second Team with junior Liana Parsell, while Madison Blair and Gracelin Stevens were honorable mentions.
DIVISION 4
Clymer went undefeated in Division 4 and earned First-Team selections with senior outside hitter Lily Johnson, who scored 106 kills, 133 digs, 47 aces and 28 blocks, and senior outside hitter Elli Bodamer, who had 72 kills, 186 digs and 43 aces.
The Pirates added junior Harleigh Faulkner to the Second Team, while Mikaela Jackson and Keira Kinal were honorable mention.
Cassadaga Valley was led by sophomore MVP outside hitter Alexis Pattyson, who scored 161 kills, 40 digs and 24 aces, while junior setter Melanie Myles joined her on the First Team with 296 assists, 77 digs and 49 aces. The Cougars earned a Second-Team selection with freshman Madi Debo.
Forestville had a First-Team selection with senior middle blocker Iris Muck and an honorable mention with Elizabeth Case.
Pine Valley rounded out the First Team with junior setter Madilynn Robertson who made 186 assists, 159 digs and 21 aces. The Panthers added sophomore Ava West to the Second Team, while Breanna Snyder was an honorable mention.
North Collins had a pair of Second-Team selections with senior Zoe Kreinheder and sophomore Ashley Niefergold.
Sherman had a Second-Team selection in sophomore Emmersen Crawford, while Jayne Chambers, Madison Emory and Carlie Gable were honorable mention.
The league’s Team Sportsmanship award went to Clymer, while individual nominations were Sherman’s Madison Emory, North Collins’ Zoe Kreinheder, Pine Valley’s Lily Hohl, Forestville’s Anna Gilman, Cassadaga Valley’s Alexis Pattyson and Clymer’s Baylee White.
