Wolverines cruise past Pine Valley

WESTFIELD — Mackenzie Schumaker had 18 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead Westfield past Pine Valley 56-13 in nonleague girls basketball action on Monday.

Maddie Burgess scored 13 points, including three 3-pointers; Arielle Corbett grabbed six rebounds; and Nahlia Douglas and Olivie Wolfe each had four assists for the Wolverines (4-0, 1-0 CCAA D2), who led 26-6 at halftime.

Sandy Ivett led the Panthers (0-4) with 9 points.

SILVER CREEK — Gracelin Stevens had 12 points and Meadow Azzarella added 10 as Silver Creek beat Dunkirk 36-21 in nonleague action.

The Black Knights (4-2) led 11-7 at halftime before a 16-10 third quarter.

Chelsey Tramuto led the Marauders (0-4) with 6 points.

MAYVILLE — Kaylee Tarr provided a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds to lead Chautauqua Lake past Forestville 50-41 in nonleague action.

Brina Jacobson provided 9 points and 12 rebounds for the Eagles (5-1). Eden Ludwig scored 10 point and Karie Tarr made three assists.

Forestville (1-2) was led by Carilene Sliwa with 16 points, Elizabeth Case scored 10 points and Ingrid Gibson made four rebounds.

HOT START

FALCONER — Falconer junior Ellyson Baglia has had a nice start to the season for the Golden Falcons, grabbing rebounds and pacing the offense.

Baglia continued that trend Monday night, picking up her third double-double of the season with 18 points and 16 rebounds, leading the Golden Falcons to a 42-28 nonleague victory against Cattaraugus-Little Valley.

Alexis Smith grabbed another nine rebounds and provided four blocks, while Alyssa Howard had six steals for the Golden Falcons (2-2).

Cattaraugus-Little Valley (1-3) was led by Quincey Whitmore with 13 points.
