Eagles win 3 titles, take first at their Chautauqua Lake Girls Invitational
MAYVILLE — Samantha Schlabach won the 94-pound title, Noli Paddock was the 138-pound champion and Lilly Hyde was victorious at 152 pounds as Chautauqua Lake/Panama/Clymer/Brocton/Westfield/Sherman won the fifth annual Chautauqua Lake Girls Invitational on Saturday at Chautauqua Lake Central School.
Alice Scarpine (120 pounds), Aurora Maring (126 pounds), Zoey Kling (138 pounds) and Chloe Hosier (165 pounds) were second; Kassidy Benedetto (100 pounds), Kortlyn Fairbank (107 pounds) and Meghan Pauley (185 pounds) were third; and Ellyie Ball (152 pounds), Liberty Maring (165 pounds) and Tatum Bensink (185 pounds) were fourth for the Eagles.
Clarence/Iroquois was second with 169.5 points, followed by Fredonia/Forestville/Silver Creek in third with 150 points. Lindsey Bailey was the 114-pound champion for the Hillbillies. Leah Waite (100 pounds) and McKella Hodkin (145 pounds) took second; and Braelynn Wicks (138 pounds), Avary LeGrano (152 pounds) and Ivie Newlon (235 pounds) were third for Fredonia/Forestville/Silver Creek.
Niagara Wheatfield/Niagara Falls/Newfane was fourth with 148.5 points, Sweet Home/Amherst was fifth with 145.5 points, CSAT was sixth with 79.5 points, Gowanda was seventh with 68.5 points, Alexander was eighth with 43 points, Kenmore West/Kenmore East was ninth with 36 points, Olean was 10th with 31 points, Frewsburg/Southwestern was 11th with 24.5 points, Salamanca was 12th with 24.5 points, Randolph was 13th with 23 points, Springville was 14th with 19.5 points, Tonawanda was 15th with 12.5 points and Cheektowaga was 16th with 3 points.
Alexander’s Jasmine Brucato was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler after winning the 107-pound title with four technical falls during which she did not allow a point. Anabelle Wessel also won the 100-pound crown for Alexander.
Niagara Wheatfield’s Nevaeh Senik won at 120 pounds, Sweet Home’s Kaitlyn Mieczkowski won at 126 pounds, Clarence’s Anika Mattoon was the 132-pound champion, Sweet Home’s Sofia Guadagna won at 145 pounds, Clarence’s Michaela Thomas won at 165 pounds, Kenmore West/Kenmore East’s Mackenzie Vetter-Higgins won at 185 pounds and Niagara Wheatfield’s Selene Torres was the 235-pound champion.
