Kam Anderson is top wrestler at Ripley Invite

MAYVILLE — Randolph’s Kamren Anderson was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler, but Erie (Pa.) won the team title at the 32nd annual Ripley Invitational on Saturday at Chautauqua Lake Central School.

Will Przybyski (118 pounds), Lincoln Slupski (138 pounds) and Jordan Selby (144 pounds) were individual champions for Erie, which finished with 192 points. Mikeem Thompson (126 pounds), Marickus Hayes (132 pounds) and Andrew McNair (215 pounds) were second; Ryleigh Thomas (126 pounds), Dio Mondragon (150 pounds) and Julian Larkin (285 pounds) were third; and Mohammad Abid (157 pounds) and Leo Becerra (190 pounds) were fourth for the Royals.

Sweet Home took second place with 165.5 points, thanks to first-place finishes by Ramzan Qodirov (110 pounds), James Serrano (150 pounds) and Abduali Mukumov (157 pounds). Abdul Alganfud (138 pounds) and Maximus Whitcomb (165 pounds) were second, Tyler Mauger (132 pounds), Ahmad Bulbol (138 pounds) and Jamal Al Ali (144 pounds) were third; and Abbas Qadam Ali (126 pounds) and Joe Burns (285 pounds) were fourth for the Panthers.

Fredonia/Forestville/Silver Creek finished third with 143 points, paced by 132-pound champion Mayson Simmons. Owen Anderson (103 pounds), Jomar Quiles (110 pounds), Rocco Muscarella (118 pounds) and Vince Prinzbach (285 pounds) finished second; Marek Kowal (157 pounds) and Gillian Capitano (190 pounds) took third; and Julian Ocasio (132 pounds) and Gavin Cruz (175 pounds) were fourth for the Hillbillies.

Anderson’s victory at 103 pounds led Randolph to fourth place with 117.5 points. Parker Patterson was also a champion for the Cardinals at 126 pounds. William Olofson (144 pounds) and Easton Pence (150 pounds) took second while Jamie Nottingham (118 pounds) and Dallas Green (138 pounds) were fourth.

Springville was fifth with 78 points, led by Bailey Oatman, the 165-pound champion. Liam Kelley (175 pounds) was second; Damien Shea (110 pounds) and Kelvin Drake (175 pounds) were third; and Alexander Luce (103 pounds) and Daemyn Peffer (144 pounds) were fourth for the Griffins.

Branden Francis, the 215-pound champion, led Frewsburg to a sixth-place finish with 71.5 points. Mason Raymond (118 pounds) and Isaiah Caldwell (215 pounds) were third while Kamron Smith (150 pounds) and Colton Raymond (215 pounds) were fourth for the Bears.

Southwestern’s Elliot Cavness won the 285-pound crown and the Trojans’ Evan Lescynski was third at 103 pounds. Southwestern finished eighth with 45.5 points.
