Bulldogs, Eagles fall; Dunkirk, Westfield advance

FREWSBURG — Falconer and Frewsburg will meet for the Frewsburg Holiday Tournament boys championship at 6 p.m. today.
For the host Bears, they coasted to a 67-23 victory over Brocton in the opening round. For the Golden Falcons, their spot in the title game came with a little more difficulty.
Chautauqua Lake 21-14 at halftime, but Falconer outscored the Eagles 12-5 in the third quarter and won 44-38.
Chautauqua Lake jumped ahead 9-1 in the opening four minutes and led 11-5 after the first quarter before taking a seven-point lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, the Golden Falcons went on an 8-0 run — a 3-pointer from Donovan Delaney, a steal and a layup from Max Parmentier, and a Delaney layup after another Eagles turnover — to make it a one-point game with 3:23 left in the period.

With 43.9 seconds left in the quarter, Delaney converted another layup off another turnover to give Falconer its first lead at 27-26.
A Liam Swan layup gave the lead back to Chautauqua Lake early in the fourth quarter, but Marcus Parmentier scored on a putback with 4:15 remaining to give the Golden Falcons a 33-32 lead they would never relinquish.
Max Parmentier and Delaney scored 12 points apiece for Falconer, Chase Bianco added 9 and Marcus Parmentier had 7. Max Parmentier grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds to go along with three assists, two blocked shots and two steals; Marcus Parmentier had five rebounds and two assists; and Delaney had four rebounds and two steals.
Joey Abuhmeidan led the Eagles with 13 points and Asher Olson added 10.
In the second game, Frewsburg used a 12-5 second quarter to take a 14-point halftime lead before outscoring the Bulldogs 41-11 in the second half.
Trent Lewis led the Bears with 18 points to go along with four rebounds, three steals and three assists; Jaden Collver had 12 points, nine rebounds, four steals and two blocked shots; Drake Beckstrom had 12 points, six rebounds and four steals; and Isaac Hultberg had 10 points, eight steals, five assists and two blocked shots.
Chautauqua Lake and Brocton will play in the consolation game at 4 p.m. today.

WESTFIELD WINTER CLASSIC
MARAUDERS, WOLVERINES ADVANCE
WESTFIELD — Dunkirk and Westfield will meet for the Westfield Winter Classic title today.
The host Wolverines beat North Collins 52-32 on Friday, which was preceded by the Marauders’ 71-60 win over Gowanda.
Dunkirk was able to outlast the Panthers despite a tournament-high 37 points from Trelin Warrior.
K’Vion Tell led the Marauders with 23 points, Aries Cheverez had 20 and Malik McCall added 10.
Dunkirk led 18-13 after the first quarter and 34-29 at halftime before taking a seven-point lead into the fourth quarter.
In the nightcap, Westfield jumped out to a 12-3 lead after the first quarter and led 25-11 at halftime.
Grant Beadle led the Wolverines with 19 points and 17 rebounds while Nolan Anderson had 9 points and five rebounds. Joel Stein and Braylon Swanson each had four steals.
Walter Ebersole led the Eagles with 12 points and Eli Hoffman scored 10.
