All-Catholic champ
St. Francis High School senior Brayden Keppel of Dunkirk recently won the individual bowling title at the All-Catholic Championship at Mallwitz’s Island Lanes. Keppel earned the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament with a five-game total of 1,058, then clinched the championship with a 235-212 in the stepladder finals. Keppel also had the season-high league score, bowling a 287 in January. Throughout his time at St. Francis, Keppel has been a four-year All-Catholic and state finalist on the varsity team. With his win, along with teammate Andrew Ellman, Keppel secured his spot in the state Federation Meet on Saturday, Feb. 28 at Babylon Lanes in North Lindenhurst.
