Fredonia, Dunkirk both win to earn shares of D1

FALCONER — Colin Luce led three Fredonia players in double figures with 15 points as the Hillbillies clinched a share of the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 boys basketball title with a 51-42 win over Falconer on Friday evening.

RJ Koopman had 13 points, seven assists and three rebounds; Graham Putney had 11 points and three assists; Donovan Dowdy had 9 points and six rebounds; and Luce grabbed five rebounds, blocked two shots and handed out two assists for Fredonia (18-2, 10-2), which led 38-21 at halftime.

Donovan Delaney led the Golden Falcons (10-10, 4-8) with 10 points, six assists and five steals; Max Parmentier had 9 points, six rebounds and three assists; and Marcus Parmentier had 9 points and five rebounds.

MARAUDERS SHARE DIVISION 1 TITLE

ALLEGANY — Malik McCall led Dunkirk with 25 points as the Marauders beat Allegany-Limestone 73-57 to clinch a share of the Division 1 title.

K’vion Tell added 21 points and Aries Cheverez had 10 for Dunkirk (17-2, 10-2), which led 31-22 at halftime.

Ryan Callen paced the Gators (3-15, 0-11) with 11 points and Cooper Wilczewski had 10.

RANDOLPH HITS 19 3-POINTERS

PORTVILLE — Randolph knocked down a program-record 19 3-pointers and finished a perfect Division 3 season with an 85-37 victory over Portville.

Syrai Johnson and Nick Beaver each his six trifecta and Kevin McElwain hit two while Isaac Pihlblad, Broden Brooks, Grady Huntington, Mason Finch and Matthew Beaver each hit one.

The Cardinals (15-2, 10-0) led 43-20 at halftime before outscoring the Panthers (6-12, 5-5) 42-17 in the second half.

Johnson led Randolph with 24 points, Nick Beaver had 22 and Brooks had 13.

Aidan DeFazio led Portville with 20 points.

HULTBERG HAS CAREER NIGHT

SINCLAIRVILLE — Junior Isaac Hultberg scored 13 of his career-high 20 points during a 25-8 third quarter as Frewsburg pulled away from Cassadaga Valley for a 55-29 Division 3 win.

Gavin Weaver also hit a pair of 3-pointers during the decisive eight minutes for the Bears (9-10, 6-4).

Trent Lewis had 10 points, eight steals and five assists; Hultberg had five assists, four rebounds and three steals; and Aiden Cusimano led Frewsburg with eight rebounds.

Mason Debo led the Cougars (6-13, 1-9) with 12 points.
