Krenzer 3rd in 200 free at Class A swim meet
CLARENCE — Frewsburg/Southwestern/Jamestown/Falconer completed the Section VI Class A swimming & diving championship in style Saturday at Clarence High School.
Headlined by six first-place finishes in the finals, the Bears placed third as a team with 274 points, trailing only Lockport (304) and Orchard Park (284).
Miles Moore doubled for Frewsburg/Southwestern/Jamestown/Falconer, claiming the 50-yard freestyle (20.90) and the 100-yard freestyle (47.45), while Grady Moore captured the 100-yard butterfly (51.59), and Landon Frederes won the 100-yard backstroke (53.61). The 200-yard medley relay (1:38.45) and the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:28.60) were also victorious for the Bears.
Grady Moore placed fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.14); Colten Kramer was fourth in 1-meter diving (260.95); Frederes was fifth in the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.04); Levi Overend was fifth in the 500-yard freestyle (5:16.10); and the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:40.30) was seventh for the Bears.
Trenton Krenzer of Fredonia/Dunkirk/Forestville placed third in the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.24) and sixth in the 100-yard butterfly. As a team, the Hillbillies finished 11th with 77 points.
CLASS C
CHEEKTOWAGA — Kody Howard captured two individual events to highlight Panama/Clymer/Sherman’s performance in the Section VI Class C finals at Maryvale High School.
Howard claimed the 50-yard freestyle (22.11) and the 100-yard freestyle (48.72), helping the Wolfpack to a third-place finish with 251 points, which trailed Tonawanda (341) and Alden (260).
Panama/Clymer/Sherman recorded second-place finishes by diver Cameron Ruch (228.85 points) and the 200-yard medley relay (1:50.02) and the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:35.73).
The Wolfpack’s Evan Conklin placed third in both the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.30) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:17.73); the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:43.03) placed fifth, as did Gavin Krasa in the 50-yard freestyle (23.59); and Ryan Smith was sixth in the 200-yard individual medley (2:36.07).
