Panama clinches D2 girls title outright
PANAMA — A 21-11 first quarter jump-started Panama to a 53-35 victory over Chautauqua Lake and the outright Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 girls basketball title Wednesday.
Kiera Loberg led the Panthers (14-4, 10-1) with 18 points and five steals; McKenna Kolstee had 15 points, 11 rebounds and three steals; and Jessica Lyon had 10 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Brooke Warner chipped in 5 points, five steals and four assists in the win.
Karie Tarr had 10 points and 13 rebounds; Kendra Tarr had 10 points; and Addison Chess had 7 points, 12 rebounds and three assists for the Eagles (10-8, 5-6).

GOWANDA — Corrina John scored 14 of her game-high 20 points during a 21-4 second quarter as Gowanda pulled away from Silver Creek for a 44-28 nonleague win.
Minnie John added 9 points for the Panthers (5-12), who led 33-12 at halftime.
Gracelin Stevens led the Black Knights (9-9) with 9 points.
