Fredonia bows to Southwestern CCAA Division 1 basketball

WEST ELLICOTT — Braya Beaver led three players in double figures with 20 points to send Southwestern to a 61-31 victory over Fredonia on Monday, which secured the Trojans at least a tie for the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 championship.
“Braya shot really well tonight and our defense was outstanding,” Southwestern head coach Kay Sirianni said. “It’s nice to get a win for our seniors (Braya Beaver and Lucy Brown) on Senior Night.”
Joining Braya Beaver in double figures were Gianna Sirianni with 16 points and Charlotte Beaver with 12. Marlana Cresanti added seven rebounds and four steals.
For Fredonia, Cecelia Tonelli led the way with 12 points, Madelyn Polhamus grabbed seven rebounds and Isabella Buckley collected four steals.
The Trojans are now 13-5 overall and 11-0 in the division, while the Hillbillies drop to 8-9 and 4-7.

SINCLAIRVILLE — Cassadaga Valley celebrated its Senior Night with a 65-52 Division 3 victory over Gowanda.
Alexis Pattyson paced the Cougars (10-5, 4-3) with 19 points and five rebounds, Maddie Debo provided a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards, Breonna Hopkins scored 16 points, grabbed nine rebounds and four steals and Makayla Hopkins collected seven rebounds.
Gowanda (4-12, 0-8) was led by Halia Rivera scoring a game-high 22 points, while Corrina John provided 14.

SILVER CREEK — Gianna Bowles scored 13 points, grabbed nine rebounds, made six assists, six steals and a block to lead Randolph past Silver Creek 49-27 in nonleague action.
Ava Sears provided another 14 points, six steals, four assists and three rebounds for the Cardinals (11-5), Ryanne Bushey collected eight rebounds and Tessa Brown had four boards and three steals.
Silver Creek (9-8) was led by Gracelin Stevens with a game-high 17 points.

CLYMER — Elli Bodamer turned in a double-double on her Senior Night for Clymer, scoring 17 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, making six steals, four assists and three blocks in a 53-29 victory over Brocton in Division 3.
Harleigh Faulkner added another 11 points and five rebounds for Clymer (5-10, 3-6), Alyssa Pratt dealt five assists, Addi Wiggers made six steals and three assists, Hannidy Goetzinger collected seven rebounds and Matti Rhines reeled in five.
Brocton (0-16, 0-11) was led by Bri Newell and Haylee Carlton with 12 points each.

BEARS ROLL IN PORTVILLE
PORTVILLE — Jadyn Trocki scored 27 points, grabbed eight steals and made eight assists to lead Frewsburg past Portville 67-35 in Division 3.
Abery Harvey provided another 17 points for Frewsburg (14-3, 7-0), Jaden Jimerson scored 12 and Elysse Gruber made 12 rebounds.
Portville (10-6, 3-4) was led by Ali Haynes with 9 points, six rebounds and three assists, Emma Rhinehart dealt four assists and two steals, Ava Scanlon collected eight rebounds and Ana Haynes made six.
