FORESTVILLE — Carilene Sliwa reached 1,000 career points in her first game of the year to become the third girl in Forestville basketball history to reach the milestone.
That put her 407 points away from 1993 graduate Tonja Jock for the top spot in program history and with one regular-season game to spare Sliwa became the greatest girls scorer in school history.
Sliwa scored 35 points and had 14 steals to lead Forestville past Pine Valley for a 59-19 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 4 victory Friday.
Ingrid Gibson provided another seven rebounds and five blocks for Forestville (12-4, 8-2), while Liz Case had 12 points, 10 boards and five steals.
Pine Valley (0-16, 0-9) was led by Sandy Ivett with 10 points.
