Warriors upend JFK in Class B1
SALAMANCA — Payton Bradley scored 24 points to lead No. 7 Salamanca past No. 10 JFK 65-49 in a Class B1 prequarterfinal.
The win sends the Warriors into Tuesday’s quarterfinals at No. 2 Olmsted.
Bradley and Adrian Taylor scored 6 points apiece as Salamanca opened up a 19-9 lead after the first quarter against the Bears.
The Warriors led 31-23 at halftime before Bradley scored 8 more points during a 15-11 third quarter.
Carlton Farmer hit his final two of four 3-pointers during the fourth quarter as Salamanca advanced.
Hayden Jozwiak led JFK with 14 points and Alexion Diaz had 13.

TROJANS TAKE DOWN RIVERSIDE
BUFFALO — Landon Hooks led a balanced scoring attack with 17 points to lead No. 9 Southwestern to a 59-44 victory over No. 8 Riverside in a Section VI Class B1 boys prequarterfinal basketball game Friday night at Grabiarz School of Excellence.
The win advances the Trojans (12-10) into the quarterfinals at 7 p.m. Tuesday against No. 2 Middle Early College, back at Grabiarz School of Excellence.
Leading 16-14 after the first quarter, Southwestern outscored Riverside 18-7 in the third period — highlighted by 10 points from Hooks — to build a comfortable lead it never relinquished.
Carter Casselman added 10 points for the Trojans, while teammates Jalen Edwards and Colton Waite chipped in 9 apiece.
Jaheim Foster paced Riverside with 20 points and Yafiet Tesegay added 11.

MAYVILLE — Joey Abuhmeidan scored 10 of his 12 points in a 22-4 second quarter as No. 10 Chautauqua Lake beat No. 15 North Collins 75-45 in a Class C first-round qualifier.
Chautauqua Lake will travel to No. 7 Frewsburg for a Tuesday prequarterfinal.
Trent Houser had 11 points and 12 rebounds while Carson Fairbank had six assists for Chautauqua Lake.
Walter Ebersole led North Collins with 25 points.
