Duliba named CCAA D4 boys Player of Year
Forestville and Cattaraugus-Little Valley went late into the season before determining a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 4 boys basketball champion.
The Hornets ultimately came out on top with a 9-1 record while the Timberwolves settled at 7-3 – their best season in years.
Forestville junior William Duliba ended up as the league’s Player of the Year while Cattaraugus-Little Valley’s Josh Forster was named the league’s Coach of the Year.
Duliba averaged 17.6 points, 3.8 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game while he was joined on the First Team by junior teammate Jacob Anders, who averaged 12.9 points, 2.0 steals, 1.5 assists and 1.4 rebounds per game.
Cattaraugus-Little Valley also had two players named to the First Team. Senior Owen Wright averaged 13.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.5 assists per game, while junior Tucker Barrick averaged 14.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.4 steals and 2.7 assists per game.
Ellicottville junior Blake Smith and freshman AJ Myers rounded out the First Team. Smith averaged 13.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.0 steals per game, while Myers averaged 12.2 points, 3.3 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game.
Forestville’s Patrick Reilly and Blake Waterman were named to the Second Team. Reilly, a sophomore, averaged 13.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.9 steals per game, while Waterman, a senior, averaged 8.0 points, 10.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.4 steals per game.
Cattaraugus-Little Valley senior Grady Merrill averaged 8.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.1 assists per game; Franklinville junior Mason Blecha averaged 15.7 points and 6.8 rebounds per game; and North Collins senior Walter Ebersole averaged 19.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.3 assists per game to round out the Second Team.

Franklinville earned the Team Sportsmanship Award with senior Trevin Lane the Panthers’ Individual Sportsmanship Award honoree.
