Hammerheads competing in championships

The Hammerheads Swim Club recently announced its Silver and Gold teams for the 2025-26 season.

The Niagara Swimming Silvers Championship was conducted at the Tonawanda Aquatic Center Feb. 27 through March 1.

The Niagara Swimming Golds Championship is being conducted at the Webster Aquatic Center over the weekends of March 13-15 and March 20-22.

In order to make the Silver and Gold teams, each swimmer needed to obtain a qualifying time in an individual event.

Representing the Hammerheads Swim Club for the Silver Team are Valentina Bown, Olivia Burlingame, Charlie Coppola, Kendyl Dietzen, Gannon Leary, Kaylen Leary and Braelynn Muniz.

Representing the Hammerheads Swim Club for the Gold Team are Olivia Burlingame, Allie Carapella, Lyla Carapella, Charlie Coppola, Gannon Leary and Braelynn Muniz.

The Hammerhead Swim Club also known as “HHSC” is a nonprofit program that gives children ages 6-18 years old in the northern Chautauqua County and surrounding areas a chance to compete, learn and grow as swimmers.

The Hammerhead Swim Club is a member of USA Swimming and has a staff of USA Swimming instructors. The club practices at SUNY Fredonia while also using other local pools in the northern Chautauqua County schools when necessary. Its goal as a swim club is to teach all participants the fundamentals of the sport of swimming and to help them achieve their personal best as swimmers.
