Dunkirk falls in flag football

DUNKIRK — The rain made it difficult to throw, but Jamestown had no trouble running the ball in Saturday’s Section VI interdivisional flag football game.

Kinsley Berg rushed for 152 yards on 14 carries and scored four touchdowns, and Kiarelis Brito added 123 yards on 13 carries and two TDs to lead the Red & Green to a 44-0 victory over Dunkirk.

The win improved Jamestown to 4-5 overall, while the Marauders dropped to 0-4.

Payton Gibbs chipped in 46 yards on the ground on seven carries and a touchdown, and Coach Steve Propheter let the defense do the rest.

JaLeyia Glover led the way with nine flag pulls, including one for a loss, and an interception; and Maurianna Akins added eight flag pulls, including one for a loss, and three sacks.

Jamestown returns to action at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday when it takes on Division 1 rival Kenmore (6-1, 4-0) at Strider Field.

FREDONIA COASTS TO VICTORY

FREDONIA — Emma Perry ran for 119 yards and three touchdowns to power Fredonia past Buffalo Academy of Science 46-12 in nonleague flag football Saturday at the Orange Bowl.

Sophia Utegg completed five passes for 97 yards and two touchdowns with Nora Polhamus catching a 3-yard score and Madelyn Polhamus catching a 32-yard score for the Hillbillies (8-1).

Juliana Snyder had nine carries for 68 yards while Peyton Wallace added a rushing touchdown in the win.

Defensively, Peyton Krenzer and Adriana Kubacki had interceptions; Wallace led Fredonia with five flag pulls; and Megan Ivory had three tackles for a loss, including a sack.

Nora Polhamus also returned a kickoff for a touchdown.

Buffalo Academy of Science suffered its first loss after starting the season with four straight wins.
