Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 4 champion Franklinville’s Makenzie Chase was recently named the league’s Player of the Year and the Panthers’ Sam Kuhn was named the Coach of the Year.

Chase, a senior, averaged 13.7 points, 11.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game for Franklinville, which finished with a 9-1 league record after beating second-place Forestville twice. Chase was joined on the league’s First Team by freshman teammate Grace Cornell, who averaged 9.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2.7 assists per game.

Forestville senior Carilene Sliwa was named to the First Team after leading the league in scoring at 28.0 points per game. She also grabbed 5.0 rebounds and 3.3 steals while handing out 4.0 assists per game for the Hornets.

Ellicottville senior Ande Northrup (16.0 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 3.4 spg, 2.5 apg), North Collins junior Hannah Jasinski (9.0 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 4.5 spg, 1.8 apg) and Cattaraugus-Little Valley senior Rebekah Butcher (10.4 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 2.0 spg, 2.0 apg) rounded out the First Team.

Forestville sophomore Elizabeth Case and junior teammate Ingrid Gibson, Ellicottville junior Riley Whitmer, Pine Valley junior Sandra Ivett and Franklinville junior Taylor Chase made up the league’s Second Team.

North Collins earned the Team Sportsmanship Award with senior Zoe Kreinheder the Eagles’ Individual Sportsmanship Award winner. Other Individual Sportsmanship Award winners were: Cattaraugus-Little Valley junior Emma West, Ellicottville junior Julianna O’Connell, Forestville senior Chymerah Genovese, Franklinville senior Trinity Herman and Pine Valley junior Lily Hohl.
