Fredonia runs flag football record to 6-0

FREDONIA — Sophia Utegg continued to shine for the undefeated Fredonia flag football team Saturday.
The sophomore quarterback completed 9 of 15 passes for 200 yards and four touchdowns, rushed for 48 yards on four carries and added three conversion passes to spark the Hillbillies to a 33-13 victory over West Seneca at the Orange Bowl.
Junior wide receiver Madelyn Polhamus had three receptions for 62 yards and two TDs; freshman wide receiver Megan Ivory caught a pair of passes for 63 yards and one score; and eighth-grade wide receiver Alexa Hennessey collected one catch for 54 yards and another score for Fredonia (6-0-0). Junior running back Emma Perry rushed for 108 yards on 15 carries and one TD; Hennessey contributed two conversion receptions; and sophomore Isabella Carmona added one.
Defensively, the Hillbillies were led by Perry (six flag pulls, one pass defensed); Ivory (five flag pulls, three tackles for loss and two sacks); freshman Peyton Krenzer (five flag pulls); and eighth-grader Avery Trippi, freshman Nora Polhamus and junior Juliana Snyder with three flag pulls apiece.

JAMESTOWN FALLS
LANCASTER — Lancaster scored a touchdown on its opening drive and the Legends made it stand up to post a 6-0 win over Jamestown on Thursday.
Leading the defensive effort for the Red & Green were JaLeiya Glover (nine flag pulls, pass breakup); Kinsley Berg (six flag pulls); Addison Cappalino (four flag pulls, two sacks); and Chryssa Wahl (five flag pulls).
Jamestown’s best scoring opportunity came in the first quarter, but it turned the ball over on downs on the 1-yard line.
The Red & Green returns to action Tuesday when it entertains Lockport at Strider Field.
