With less than two months until Opening Day, the Jamestown Tarp Skunks released their promotional schedule for the 2026 season.

The Tarp Skunks, members of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League, begin their season at home against the newest league member, the Olean Oilers, on Friday, May 29 at 6:30 p.m. Prior to the start of the game, the team will host a free tailgate festival sponsored by Jamestown Awning featuring live music by the band “Porcelain Bus Drivers,” a food truck and a bounce house. At the conclusion of the game, there will be a fireworks show to kick off the Tarp Skunks’ sixth season.

“After building on the success of our 2025 season, we’re excited to carry that energy into 2026 and create an even more memorable experience for our fans,” said Christian Dolce, Tarp Skunks general manager and director of business and sales operations. “Our mission stays the same: serving as Chautauqua County’s top destination for summer entertainment. This year’s promotional lineup is filled with fun, affordable, and engaging events designed for all ages. We can’t wait to make every visit to the ballpark something special.”

The Tarp Skunks, who saw attendance and ticket sales increase for the fifth straight season last year, are expecting to see even larger crowds this summer with a schedule filled with fun and family friendly promotions. One of the most popular nights for fans, $2 Night, will return starting on June 2 at 6:30 p.m. and also occurring on July 7 and July 21. All bleacher tickets, beer and hot dogs will be just $2. On July 7, a special $2 Night will take place where all tickets are free in addition to the $2 night special, thanks to Cattaraugus Community Bank.

On Tuesday, June 9, the Tarp Skunks will host School Kids Day presented by Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, with a special start time of 11 a.m. The Tarp Skunks are scheduling this game to attract students from local schools to attend the game on a field trip. Schools from Jamestown Public Schools, Falconer, Dunkirk, Bemus Point and Panama will be in attendance. The Tarp Skunks still have some limited room for schools, but overall are excited about the Kids Game and look forward to students packing the stadium for a great time.

Thursday June 18 at 6:30 p.m. will be the first of five Community Buyout Nights. Live CHQ, JCC, Cattaraugus Community Bank, Wegmans and Greater Chautauqua Federal Credit Union, will sponsor Community Buyout games on June 18, June 25, July 7, July 10 and July 12, respectively. Live CHQ Community Buyout Night on June 18th at 6:30 p.m. will be recognized as a First Responder Night and Medical Healthcare Professionals Night, where the Tarp Skunks in conjunction with Live CHQ, will honor all first responders and health care workers in the area. All Community Buyout games are free to the public and are great ways for organizations to show their support to the community while giving fans the opportunity to go to a game for free.

In addition to the Opening Night fireworks there will be two other fireworks nights in 2026: Friday, July 3 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, July 25 at 6:30 p.m. July 3 will be presented by Jamestown Mattress, and will celebrate the 4th of July weekend. July 25’s show will be a Christmas in July Fireworks Night celebration, presented by Collaborative Children’s Solutions and Culture Care Senior Living concluding the Tarp Skunks’ regular season schedule.

The Tarp Skunks will continue the “Tarp Skunks Kids Club” as well as their “Whiffy Fund” program, which allows all kids wearing their youth baseball/softball jersey to gain free admission to the park.

“Our top priority is bringing kids out to the ballpark,” Dolce said. “With our Whiffy Fund program, we’re proud to offer an opportunity that allows local children to enjoy a fun day at the park, completely free of charge. We hope families across the community take full advantage of it.” The “Tarp Skunks Kids Club,” presented by Cattaraugus County Bank, McCandless Plumbing and Excavation, Mccandless Well Drilling, King Kone, Logistics Plus, Kinetic Business, Cummins, Tim Hortons, Prevention Works and CASA Trinity, will be back again after a great success in the first two seasons. Perks of the membership include a midseason ice cream social with Whiffy, 10% off at the team store, a free T-shirt, a Tarp Skunks drawstring bag, and a free ticket to all Friday night home games. The cost is just $15 and can be purchased online until June 5.

First pitch for all games on Monday through Saturday remains the same as last year at 6:30 p.m., with the exception of School Kids Day, July 3, Sundays and doubleheaders. All doubleheaders and Sunday home games will begin at 4 p.m. while July 3 will kick off at 7 p.m.
