Perry rushes for 3 touchdowns, Fredonia rolls Lackawanna on Tuesday

FREDONIA — Emma Perry ran seven times for 109 yards and three touchdowns to lead Fredonia to a 54-0 shutout of Lackawanna in Division 4 flag football Tuesday at the Orange Bowl.

Sophia Utegg and Peyton Krenzer added rushing touchdowns for the Hillbillies (5-0, 1-0), who totaled 193 yards on the ground.

Fredonia entered the week ranked No. 4 in Class C, according to the New York State Sportswriters Association.

Utegg completed 4 of 7 passes for 24 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown pass to Madelyn Polhamus. Mikaela Sciarrino also completed 2 of 3 passes for 45 yards. Megan Ivory caught two passes for 14 yards while Alexa Hennessey added a 38-yard reception.

Defensively for Fredonia, Nora Polhamus and Madelyn Polhamus returned interceptions for touchdowns. Ivory had four flag pulls and four sacks. Adriana Kubacki and Peyton Wallace added four flag pulls apiece. Avery Trippi had three sacks and Sciarrino chipped in two while Antonella Segura had one sack.

Utegg and Sciarrino each threw a pair of conversion passes with Emma Perry, Isabella Carmona, Nora Polhamus and Hennessey each catching a conversion pass. Utegg and Perry each added a conversion run as well.

The Steelers fell to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the league.

BENKER TOO MUCH FOR JAMESTOWN

WEST SENECA — Mackenzie Benker went 13 of 16 for 112 yards and a touchdown while adding 162 yards and three touchdowns on the ground as West Seneca beat Jamestown 26-13 in Division 1 action.

Emma Paradise caught two passes for 22 yards and a touchdown for the Warhawks (2-0-1, 1-0)

Marcia McIntyre was 12 of 22 for 67 yards and a touchdown for the Red & Green (1-3, 0-1). McIntyre also ran for a 1-yard score. Payton Gibbs had 43 receiving yards and 27 rushing yards. Kinsley Berg added 29 yards rushing and 20 yards receiving.

Defensively, JaLeiya Glover and Kiarelis Brito had seven flag pulls apiece — three of Glover’s went for losses. Berg and Abbee Brandow each had an interception.

PIONEER LIVES UP TO TOP BILLING

WEST ELLICOTT — Jayden Leederman ran 15 times for 179 yards and three touchdowns to lead Pioneer past Southwestern 33-0 in Division 4 play at Charles A. Lawson Field.

Ellie Edwards completed 11 of 17 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing six times for 64 yards for the Panthers (3-0, 1-0), the state’s top-ranked Class C team, according to the New York State Sportswriters Association.

Defensively, Abigail Mason had eight flag pulls, including two for losses, and Leederman had six flag pulls, including four for losses, and a sack.

The Trojans fell to 0-1 overall and in the league.
