The Section VI K4 youth wrestling all-star dual team finished in second place at the All-State All-Section Duals. This is the section’s highest finish since the first year of the duals. The championship match came down to the final bout. Representing the team from the area were Gowanda’s Ashton Draudt and Maverick Olszewski, and Falconer/Cassadaga Valley’s Theo Monacelli, Michah Barber, Fisher Ward, Luke Winchester and Kamdyn Schimek. Ward, Winchester and Schimek were named to the all-tournament team after going undefeated at their respective weights. Local kids on the K6 teams included: Falconer/Cassadaga Valley’s Jaxson Love, Tucker Calimeri, Barber, Winchester, John Beichner, Conner Howard, Tucker Campbell and Andrew Winchester; Salamanca’s Stryker Brown; Gowanda’s Bryson Olszewski; and Westfield/Ripley/Chautauqua Lake’s Bruno Muscarella. Local kids on the Girls K12 team included: Gowanda’s Daphne Twoguns, and Falconer/Cassadaga Valley’s Maliyah Stone and Elayna Barber.
