Dunkirk falls in Class A2 prequarterfinal

ALBION — Nathan Gibson allowed just one hit and struck out 12 over six innings of work as No. 8 Albion beat No. 9 Dunkirk 5-3 in a Section VI Class A2 prequarterfinal baseball game Friday.

Elliott Trapiss led the Albion offense with two hits while Gibson, Will Plummer, Viktor Snyder and Kaiden Froman each drove in a run.

The Purple Eagles will travel to No. 1 City Honors for a quarterfinal at noon today.

Dunkirk’s season ends with a 10-7 record.
