Fredonia softball comes up short of Olean
OLEAN — Seven runs scored between the third and fourth inning was enough for Olean to hold off Fredonia 7-6 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 softball action on Wednesday.
The Fredonia (7-2, 6-2) effort was led by a balanced offense that saw Naomi Muck, Callie Draggett, Jenna Fryberger, Anna Delcamp and Ava Muck each have one RBI, while McKella Hodkin scored twice reaching on four walks. Delcamp suffered the loss in the circle.
Allison Anastasia and Anna Bates each drove in three runs for Olean (8-4, 7-2).
GOWANDA ROLLS IN RANDOLPH
RANDOLPH — Addison Kota hit 3 for 4 with two doubles and 2 RBIs as Gowanda stormed past Randolph 21-9 in Division 3 play.
Corrina John went 4 for 5 for the Panthers (4-5, 3-3), while Sophia Bobseine, Jenna Luther, Bella Maines, Darcy Kennedy and Hayleigh Miller added two hits each.
Randolph (2-6, 1-5) was led by Peyton Roberts going 2 for 4 with a triple and 2 RBIs, while Elenza Bryan hit 2 for 4 with an RBI and Grace Arnold-Hill finished 1 for 2.
PORTVILLE TOPS NORTH COLLINS
NORTH COLLINS — Bella Morales went 2 for 3 with a home run and 3 RBIs as Portville doubled North Collins for an 8-4 victory in Division 4.
Sienna Schoonover hit 2 for 4 and Bella Young went 2 for 3 for the Panthers (4-4, 3-4).
North Collins (5-7, 2-6) was led by Kallie Emke hitting 3 for 3 with a double, Morgan Kreinheder hit 2 for 4 with an RBI and Mya Tanis added a double.
