JAMESTOWN — In a game of rallies, Jamestown and Batavia had to settle for a 12-12 tie in Friday night’s Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League contest at Diethrick Park.
The West Division-leading Muckdogs (22-6-1) scored four runs in the top of the 10th inning to retake the lead only to have the second-place Tarp Skunks (20-7-2) tally four of their own in the bottom half of the frame. By league rule, games can’t go beyond the 10th.
Jamestown did have a chance to win in its final at-bat, but Batavia closer Eric Woodley struck out James Dixon with the bases loaded to finally end the four-hour marathon.
The Muckdogs led 8-5 heading into the bottom of the eighth, but the Tarp Skunks tied it, courtesy of a two-run double by Dom Costello and an RBI single by Nolan Smith. Both teams were retired in the ninth, sending the game to extras.
Through nine innings, Branston Lindquist (double), Eric Weeks (two RBIs) and Costello (three RBIs) collected two hits apiece for Jamestown. For Batavia, Jalen David and Jaden Vasquez (two RBIs) had three hits apiece, Braedon Reina (RBI) had two and Jackson Inman added an RBI triple.

The Tarp Skunks are at Geneva today and will play Auburn in a doubleheader on Sunday, beginning at 4 p.m. at Diethrick Park.
