Four Dunkirk natives won't soon forget their golf outing last week.
Mike, the brother of Joe, and twins Donato and Dan, simply called it "unbelievable."
Hard to argue.
Playing at Maury Golf Course in Maine on Donato's and Dan's 70th birthday, Donato aced the 176-yard par 3 fourth hole with a 4-hybrid. It was his second career hole-in-one, joining the one he had on No. 5 at Hillview Golf Course when he was 13.
How Donato earned the latest golf milestone had Mike, 84, still laughing days later.
"He hit the ball, it hit a rock and went dead left and into the hole," he said Thursday evening. "I've never seen anything like that."
The ace was the sixth for the Tramutas as a family. In addition to Donato's two, Joe has a pair (on No. 3 at Tri-County GC and on No. 6 at Shorewood Country Club); Dan has one (on No. 6 at Shorewood CC); and their father, Jerry, had one (at Hillview GC).
As for Mike, well ...
"I'm the best golfer in the family," he said. "I'd like to get one."
