Pink the Course raises $2,000 for cancer research

DUNKIRK -- Shorewood Country Club's men's golf league recently hosted "Pink the Course," a special event dedicated to raising money for cancer research. The funds raised will be donated to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center to support its important work in the fight against cancer.
The event was organized by Joe Gould and Dan Astry and brought together both league members and nonleague members for an afternoon of fun, fellowship and a meaningful cause.
Participants were encouraged to wear pink in support of the event and the many people whose lives have been touched by cancer.
One of the highlights was the sale of pink flamingos, which participants could personalize with the names of loved ones who have been affected by cancer. The flamingos created a colorful display while providing a heartfelt way for members to honor friends and family.
The event also featured a putting contest down the steps of the patio, adding a fun and challenging twist to the day. Throughout the event, DJ Joe Gould provided music on the patio, helping create a festive atmosphere for everyone in attendance.
Thanks to the incredible generosity and participation of everyone involved, $2,000 was raised for cancer research.
The league would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to both league members and nonleague members for their generous participation and support. Contributions helped make "Pink the Course" a great success and, most importantly, helped support the ongoing fight against cancer.
