BROCTON -- Alexis Pattyson had nine kills and seven aces to go along with 12 digs as Cassadaga Valley swept nonleague Brocton 25-21, 25-13, 25-8.
Kaliee Lacki had five kills and 10 digs while Melanie Myles chipped in nine digs and eight assists for the Cougars (1-0).
Paige Miller had three assists, a kill and two digs; Sha'Nah Adams had an assist, three kills and three digs; and Nevaeh Hebner had eight digs for the Bulldogs (0-2).
Cassadaga Valley won the jayvee match.
JAMESTOWN EDGES FALCONER IN D1
FALCONER -- Aiyanna Stam collected 13 kills and two aces, and Remy Anderson added nine kills to lead Jamestown to a 25-22, 18-25, 25-14, 25-12 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 volleyball victory over Falconer.
The win was the Red & Green's first against the Golden Falcons since 2020.
"We're not going to win them all, for sure," Jamestown head coach Ken Ricker said. "We play in an incredible league, but it's certainly a step in the right direction."
Maylin Cuifolo added 28 sets in Jamestown's season-opening win, Chloe Roberts paced the defensive effort with eight digs and three aces and Chloe Degnan chipped in four aces.
For Falconer (0-2), Reagan Trask collected three kills, 25 assists, eight digs and two blocks; Maddie Widen had eight kills, two aces and 14 digs; Alexis Smith chipped in eight kills, 14 digs and two aces; and Elayna Barber added nine digs and two aces.
SALAMANCA WINS D2 OPENER
ELLICOTTVILLE -- Salamanca trimmed Ellicottville 25-14, 25-23, 22-25, 25-22 in Division 2 action.
The Warriors improved to 1-0 overall and in the league on the season.
Shiloh Miller had 12 assists, three digs, a block and an ace; Riley Whitmer had seven kills, 16 digs and two blocks; Karle Northrup had five kills, eight digs and a block; and Marlee Marynard had 20 digs and an ace for the Eagles (1-1, 0-1).
