FREDONIA -- Despite Fredonia/Dunkirk/Forestville/Pine Valley/Cassadaga Valley winning 10 of 12 events, Salamanca's 31 swimmers to the hosts' 14 gave the Warriors a 100-85 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association girls swimming and diving victory Monday.
Forestville's Kaylen Leary captured the 200-yard individual medley (2:44.03) and 500-yard freestyle (6:24.16) while Cassadaga Valley's Olivia Burlingame claimed the 100-yard butterfly (1:08.57) and 100-yard backstroke (1:04.45). Fredonia's Valentina Brown took the 200-yard freestyle (2:18.45) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:23.75).
Fredonia's Kendyl Dietzen was victorious in the 50-yard freestyle (28.05) and Brooklyn Smith took the 1-meter diving competition (174.23).
Salamanca's victories came in the 100-yard freestyle (Kynleigh Wass, 1:01.67) and the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:07.04).
