DUNKIRK -- Kaylee Green had nine kills and seven digs to go along with two aces as Falconer beat Dunkirk 25-16, 25-16, 26-24 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 volleyball Tuesday.
Reagan Trask had 22 assists, four digs and two aces; Elayna Barber had 23 digs and six aces; Skyler Norlander had seven kills, four digs and two blocks; and Maddie Widen had 14 digs and five kills for the Golden Falcons (1-2, 1-1).
In their season opener, the Marauders fell to 0-1 overall and in the league.
HORNETS SWEEP SILVER CREEK
FORESTVILLE -- Jazmyn Bertino had five kills and a dig while Alana Emke had six kills, a dig and a block as Forestville defeated nonleague Silver Creek 26-24, 25-20, 25-22.
Elizabeth Case had two aces, 11 assists, two kills and four digs while Olivia Valentine added four aces for the Hornets (1-1).
Priya Sakpal had a block and three aces while Maddy Blair had six kills and an ace for the Black Knights (1-1).
Forestville won the jayvee matchup.
JAMESTOWN ENDS DROUGHT AGAINST TROJANS
JAMESTOWN -- Jamestown swept Southwestern 25-21, 25-14, 25-11 in Division 1 action, the Red & Green's first victory over the Trojans since April 19, 2021 -- a stretch of 10 straight matches.
Aiyanna Stam had seven kills, four blocks and three aces; Remy Anderson had six kills, three blocks and two aces; Chloe Roberts had 15 digs; and Maylin Cuifolo had 42 sets for Jamestown (2-0, 2-0).
"They have a very, very good program. Our league is ridiculously good. For us to start 2-0, it's all about the work the girls put in during the summer," Jamestown head coach Ken Ricker said. "When they win, it's a little easier to sell that."
The Trojans fell to 0-2 overall and in the league.
PANTHERS WIN AGAIN
BROCTON -- Pine Valley improved to 2-0 overall with a 25-16, 25-18, 25-15 sweep of nonleague Brocton.
The Bulldogs fell to 0-3 on the season.
Pine Valley also swept the jayvee matchup.
PANTHERS SWEEP FREDONIA
FREDONIA -- Portville swept Fredonia 25-13, 25-22, 26-24 in Division 1 play.
The Panthers improved to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the league.
Londyn Wilmot led the Hillbillies (1-2, 1-1) with 11 kills and three blocks; Alyse Bugaj had 15 assists; Sophia Pagan had five digs and an ace; and Isabella Buckley had two aces and five digs.
CASTRO POWERS MAPLE GROVE
ELLERY -- Lucy Castro had 12 kills, six digs and three aces to lead Maple Grove to a 25-18, 27-25, 25-15 sweep of nonleague Cassadaga Valley.
Meg Ryan had four kills, five blocks and an ace; Savannah Rambacher had 14 assists; and Annie Steffen had six aces for the Red Dragons (1-0).
Alexis Pattyson had four kills, six digs and seven aces; Melanie Myles had a kill, nine assists and a dig; Eliana Katilus had a kill, a dig and an ace; and Liz Lewis had two kills, an assist, three blocks and a dig for the Cougars (1-1).
