ELMA -- Frewsburg/Falconer's Anelia Pitts joined two other Section VI divers Saturday to qualify for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Championships.
Pitts, a Frewsburg junior, accumulated an 11-dive score of 442.0 to finish third at the Iroquois Diving Invitational.
The standard for 11 dives to qualify for the state meet is 440.0.
Williamsville North junior Sophie Kusmierski won the invitational with an 11-dive score of 470.95 while Iroquois freshman Shea Jacobs finished second with a score of 458.10.
Another Iroquois freshman, Reyella Maskulinski, took fourth with a score of 414.40.
Fredonia/Dunkirk/Forestville/Pine Valley/Cassadaga Valley's Brooklyn Smith, a Fredonia senior, was the only other Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association diver to compete Saturday. She finished fifth with a score of 317.70, which qualifies her for the Section VI meet.
Starpoint freshman Meghan Zugelder (317.0), Tonawanda eighth-grader Miya Kascmarek (310.6), Williamsville North junior Alexis Withee (284.65) and Starpoint sophomore Olivia Anderson (281.95) rounded out the nine-diver field.
