F/D/F/PV/CV swimmers fall in Panama

PANAMA -- Emery Watkins and Kendyl Dietzen were double winners as Panama/Maple Grove/Clymer/Sherman beat Fredonia/Dunkirk/Forestville/Pine Valley/Cassadaga Valley 112-67 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association girls swimming and diving Thursday.

Watkins claimed the 200-yard freestyle (2:08.50) and 500-yard freestyle (5:45.95) while Dietzen captured the 50-yard freestyle (28.40) and 100-yard freestyle (1:01.35) for the hosts.

Olivia Burlingame took the 200-yard individual medley (2:31.28) and 100-yard backstroke (1:09.10) for the guests.

FREWSBURG/FALCONER TOPS GATORS

ALLEGANY -- Sydney Frederes, Anelia Pitts, Kaylee Melquist, Kaede Zeiders-Weber and Avierylynn Gifford each won an event to lead Frewsburg/Falconer past Allegany-Limestone 121-62.

Frederes claimed the 50-yard freestyle (27.67), Pitts took the 1-meter diving competition (271.05), Melquist captured the 500-yard freestyle (6:33.73), Zeiders-Weber won the 100-yard backstroke (1:22.87) and Gifford was victorious in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:28.75) for the guests.

Sammi Vecchio won the 200-yard freestyle (2:21.01) and 100-yard butterfly (1:08.74) for the Gators.

SALAMANCA -- Twenty-six personal-best times helped Salamanca beat Chautauqua Lake/Westfield 143-26.

Kynleigh Wass won the 50-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle while Juliana Smith claimed the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard breaststroke for the Warriors.
